Yale Center for British Art Interactive Stations

A single interactive solution for touchscreen, web and mobile that supports current, past, and future exhibitions.

We partnered with the Yale Center for British Art to create a flexible framework for effectively displaying exhibition resources—objects, timelines, maps, images and media—for multiple exhibitions on touchscreens, web and mobile devices. This author-once, publish-everywhere approach was appealing to the Center, providing their interpretative team with a streamlined toolset that supports key digital experiences for a range of exhibition content and modes of visitor engagement.

The responsive Drupal templates were created to be easily adapted and reused for multiple exhibitions, and provide curators with an efficient and comprehensive way to present the historical, geographical, and cultural context of the artworks and artists. The templates are integrated with the Center’s existing collections management system to ensure accurate, up-to-date collections information and streamline the content management process. The templates also support enhanced media, as well as timeline and geographical information.

The interactive stations provide an elegant, intuitive and flexible interface that provides visitors with informative, meaningful experiences that celebrate the artworks on display in the galleries.
