For the Penn Museum’s special exhibition The Golden Age of King Midas, we designed and developed an interactive illustrated book of The Myths of Midas and Gordion. Featuring 3 myths adapted from Ovid and illustrated in the style of a series of ancient friezes showcased in the exhibit, this interactive book gives the visitor the power of their own golden touch. Unlike Midas, who had to wash his touch off in the river, visitors return the illustrations to normal at the turn of the page.
In conjunction with the interactive book, Night Kitchen also created dynamic animated flyover of an illustrated map of the ancient kingdoms of Anatolia. Both media experiences are installed in the exhibition.
