Since the launch of the PhilaPlace website last December, the Historical Society of Pennsylvania (HSP) has received a steady stream of stories from local residents and community members. Some of these stories even accompany images — both historical and contemporary — as well as videos. Check out these recently published stories:
- Reese & Huntingdon Streets — Haffies
- A Video History of the Bel Arbor Community Garden
- 5th & Olive Streets — Through Cracks in the Pavement
- Connie’s Ric-Rac — A Dream Pursued, A Block Saved
- Bodine Street House — From Bulldozer to Beautification
- Mummers Museum — This could only happen in South Philadephia "2" Street
You can explore more stories by browsing by neighborhood, topic, or contributor through the interactive map on PhilaPlace.
