inspiration

The Benjamin Franklin Tercentenary (BF300) wanted to add an integral component to its online exhibitions – an interactive timeline that would capture the richness of the traveling exhibit Benjamin Franklin: In Search of a Better World and convey the life and achievements of Benjamin Franklin.

narration

Using both a chronological and themed navigation, Night Kitchen Interactive’s approach allows the visitor to be immersed in the unfolding of Franklin’s story, while also providing key “jumping off” points that help build personal connections to his life and genius.

design

Night Kitchen Interactive pulled together over 150 entries – including facts, quotes, images, animations, interactive games, and videos adapted from the traveling exhibition – into a  flowing rich media experience. The quick-reference toolbar provides personalized navigation while a vibrant use of color visually reflects the design of the physical exhibit.

interaction

Night Kitchen Interactive’s execution puts visitors in control of their experience, encouraging a deeper, more personal exploration of Franklin’s life and achievements. To further the learning impact of Frankin’s Interactive Lifetime, the BF300 distributed Franklin’s Interactive Lifetime to libraries across the country via cdrom as an engaging and fact-filled research tool.
