inspiration
In 2006, Marian Godfrey, the Director of Civic Life Initiatives at the Pew Charitable Trusts launched a series of talks to promote the impact of the arts in Philadelphia over the past 15 years.
narration
Night Kitchen Interactive produced an introductory promotional movie and the supporting PowerPoint presentation to reflect the Pew Charitable Trusts’ message. We facilitated brainstorming sessions in order to elicit the key messages and collaborated in the development of “The New Philadelphia Story” script—a visual narrative that tells the story of the impact of the arts on the economic development of a community.
design
Using the Pew’s existing collection of photographs gathered from the city’s arts and cultural organizations, Night Kitchen Interactive created a dynamic presentation composed of voiceover, music, Flash, and 3-D animation to bring “The New Philadelphia Story” to life.
interaction
The presentation continues to be used to inform, inspire and challenge the public’s perception of the role of arts and culture on the civic, social and economic welfare of our cities and our communities.
