Inspiration
The Parrish Art Museum wanted to create an online experience that would encourage visitors to journey through its collection of works by the artists of Long Island’s East End.
Narration
Night Kitchen Interactive focused on the idea of “connections” – connections between events, artists, artwork and locations – to help immerse visitors in the enduring presence of artists on the East End.
Design
Incorporating an innovative use of Google Maps, Night Kitchen created an intuitive, well-structured exploration the personal stories, historical forces, artists and artwork that shaped this artists’ community. The project’s mission is instantly recognized on the home page, while a clean layout provides a calm yet compelling viewing experience of over 1600 images drawn from the museum’s collection.
Interaction
Online exhibit tours are brought to life through interactive maps, that help visitors view not just the art, but the locations and historical forces that gave rise to the art and artists of Long Island’s East End.
