Inspiration

The National Constitution Center wanted a playful yet meaningful online feature that would draw students into the unfolding story of voting rights in America.

Narration

Night Kitchen Interactive created Seize the Vote!, an interactive online game where students test their knowledge of voting rights and help their game characters win the right to vote.

Design

To design this educational online game and meet the key educational objects, Night Kitchen Interactive first created a paper prototype for use in the classroom. After observing the dynamics of game play and evaluating the learning outcomes, Night Kitchen Interactive then created the final online version for the NCC’s website.

Interaction

By giving students a “stake” in the unfolding history of voting rights, Seize the Vote! fosters meaningful engagement and helps facilitate an understanding of how and why voting rights expanded and contracted over the course of American history.
