A recent episode of The Colbert Report featured Night Kitchen’s Slavery at Jefferson’s Monticello website, developed in collaboration with the Thomas Jefferson Foundation. The segment, titled American History X’ed, referenced the project as an example of people "trying to sully the things our founding fathers did by talking about the things our founding fathers did."
The website is a companion piece to TJF’s physical exhibition Slavery at Jefferson’s Monticello: Paradox of Liberty, which brings to light the history of individuals and families who lived and worked at the plantation.
