Night Kitchen is currently in the discovery phase for the design and development of the George Washington interactive timeline for Mount Vernon Estate and Gardens. We are excited to delve into the creation of the visual treatments and begin building the timeline components with Mount Vernon’s rich array of content, garnered from its own collection and resources.
A particularly interesting aspect of this engagement is the opportunity for us to create educational interactives and playful animations to convey the human side behind the iconic figure and present historical content in a way that engages students in 5th grade and up.
Working in close collaboration with Mount Vernon’s education staff, the timeline will be designed to expand the public’s general knowledge of America’s first President and allow them to gain a deeper understanding of his profound impact on who we are as a people and a nation.
It will complement the traveling exhibition, Discovering the Real George Washington: A View from Mount Vernon, which will travel to 6-8 cities nationwide beginning in February 2010, and become a permanent feature on the Mount Vernon website.
