Mount Vernon Estate and Gardens wanted to unveil the many facets of America’s first President in order to help the general public gain a deeper understanding of his profound impact on who we are as a people and a nation.

Narration

True to its title, this online exhibit tells the story of the man behind the icon, presenting historical content in a way that engages audiences of all ages.

Design

This online exhibit contains interactive battle maps, behind-the-scenes images, and playful animations that help transform our perceptions of the stoic image we’ve come to associate with George Washington.

Interaction

This visually immersive timeline allows audiences to explore the content chronologically or through themes that expand the public’s general knowledge of America’s first President as a statesman, military leader, family man, visionary entrepreneur, and slave owner.
