Director of Learning Strategies

Stacey has worked as an exhibit and education experience designer for over 15 years and holds her Masters in Learning Sciences from Northwestern University. Recent projects include informal learning research at the Illinois Holocaust Museum and Education Center as well as directing development of the traveling exhibition Torn from Home: My Life as a Refugee, a collaboration between Lied Discovery Children’s Museum, the UN Refugee Agency, and other aid agencies. Her research interests include the pedagogical design of learning environments, public interpretation of human rights and social justice issues, social and cultural capital in museums, and the intersection of civic engagement with media literacy. Early work with the Exploratorium in San Francisco provided the foundation for an inquiry-based and user-centered design approach that she applies to her work in website interaction design, exhibit development, and interpretive planning.
