- Life, in all of its vastness and variety, is its own inspiration. To paraphrase an old mentor, I just want to do good stuff that works.
- I can read the same books over and over again, and get more out of them each time. I love the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy Trilogy for its absurdity, and the Lord of the Rings Trilogy for the intricate storytelling. I could probably fill my iPod with just Queen’s albums and not get bored.
- I find how certain plants are specialized to their environment (e.g. a cactus in the desert or orchids in a cloud forest) fascinating. I also enjoy learning how and why something is made, and watching artisans perform their craft.
- I try not to be a geek at home. I am an avid gardener, and in particular shade gardening outdoors and raising orchids indoors.
