We hear more and more about Web 2.0’s myriad tools and innovations in business, media and increasingly, education. However, with technologies changing on nearly a daily basis, it can be intimidating to approach, let alone adopt, many of the advances that are revolutionizing how we communicate, interact, work, play, and live.
Billing itself as "the social network for those interested in Web 2.0 and collaborative technologies in education" Classroom 2.0 is aimed specifically at educators and works to foster discussions, provide resources, and illuminate the many ways in which Web 2.0 can enhance the classroom. With nearly 8,000 current members and a variety of groups ranging from "Teacher’s Autonomy" to "Digital Storytelling" this is a rapidly growing, dynamic place.
Classroom 2.0 not only provides a forum for educators interested in enhancing their schools and museums through Web 2.0 technologies, but also offers a number of virtual talks and live weekly sessions exploring relevant topics such as "Google Search Tips" and "Class2Class Virtual Brainstorm", a live discussion on bringing Web 2.0 tools to the classroom.
