We have the pleasure of working on new and innovative projects all the time. Below is a brief description of some of our current projects.

Mobile Site for History of Vaccines

Night Kitchen Interactive has partnered with the College of Physicians of Philadelphia to adapt the History of Vaccines site for mobile devices. The mobile site will continue to inform audiences through timelines, activities, articles and multimedia resources, in addition to providing up-to-date access to the History of Vaccines blog.

Country Dog Gentlemen Coming Soon to the App Store

The Country Dog Gentlemen are on the move once again, and will soon be available as an iPhone app. SFMOMA’s mobile Gallery Game features the colorful canines Dingo and Collie, who encourage visitors of all ages to explore the museum’s collection through fun and thought-provoking activities. The activities connect families to the works of art and to each other, transforming a museum visit into an art-filled adventure.

Osteoware Website for National Museum of Natural History

Night Kitchen Interactive has been selected to create a Drupal-based website to promote and distribute Osteoware, a complex software program that will assist researchers and the academic community in documenting human skeletal remains.

Developed by the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History, Osteoware will allow scientists to input real-time data entry of observations, which will be cataloged into a structured query language (SQL) database. The website will provide scientists with free downloads of the program, along with information about features and functions, and will include a forum for customers to pose questions about the program, discuss usage and best practices, or contact NMNH support staff about the software.

Teenie Harris Online Exhibit and Digital Archive

Night Kitchen Interactive is excited to be working with the Carnegie Museum of Art to develop the Teenie Harris Online Exhibit and Digital Archive in preparation for the upcoming exhibition, Teenie Harris, Photographer: An American Story, opening in late October 2011. A website will present the story of the Teenie Harris Archive and will allow the visitor to explore the 1000 images showcased in the exhibition, both online and through kiosks in the installation. We will also be developing a digital archive that will enable visitors to browse and search all 80,000+ Teenie Harris negatives in the archive, in addition to enabling visitor comments, tags and favoriting of the images.

Monticello’s Paradox of Slavery

Night Kitchen Interactive is delighted to again partner with the Thomas Jefferson Foundation’s Monticello to create three online exhibits centering on the enslaved community at Thomas Jefferson’s historic plantation. With an emphasis on the lives of enslaved families and the diaspora of descendants of those families, these online exhibitions will allow visitors to explore the lost world of the plantation’s hub, Mulberry Row, and examine the paradox of slavery at the home of the man who wrote "all men are created equal".

Bringing Objects to Life: iPad Kiosks for the Krannert Art Museum

Night Kitchen Interactive is excited to be collaborating with the Krannert Art Museum to create iPad kiosks for their African Art Gallery!

African art objects are rarely made with the intention of hanging on a gallery wall or resting under a display case—yet, this is how they are often displayed and presented in our own culture. How can we communicate the rich history and cultural significance of these objects within the context of a museum gallery?

SFMOMA Mobile Gallery Game for Families

Expanding on the success of the Country Dog Gentlemen interactive kiosk, Night Kitchen Interactive has launched a mobile gallery game to prompt visitors to explore, learn, and play in SFMOMA’s galleries.

Through an application developed by Night Kitchen Interactive for the iPod touch, families and visitors of all ages are encouraged by the Country Dog Gentlemen to create connections to the works in a fun and goal-oriented experience in the museum. The canine characters help visitors in their journey through the art world by providing insightful questions, challenging people to look, move, listen, and talk about art. Illsville: Fight the Disease Game Simulation

We are pleased to announce the addition of the Illsville: Fight the Disease game simulation to the College of Physicians of Philadelphia’s History of Vaccines website!

Designed primarily for high school science students, the Fight the Disease game simulation takes players through four eras, presenting them with disease outbreaks and decision factors that they can manipulate to help maintain a healthy population. Information about relevant historical events are interspersed throughout the game in order to reinforce key points about factors that continue to play a role in preventing the spread of disease.

Explore the History of Vaccines!

We invite you to explore the History of Vaccines website, which we recently launched for The College of Physicians of Philadelphia.

By providing context and understanding of how vaccines work and the role that they’ve played in human health, the History of Vaccines website aims to make the history of vaccines compelling and relevant to people’s lives today.

Monticello’s Website Renovation Unveiled!

Night Kitchen Interactive has launched the first phase of the comprehensive redesign of Monticello.org. As part of its ongoing work with the Thomas Jefferson Foundation, the new website presents visitors with a vibrant and engaging online destination designed to promote on-site visitation to Monticello and provide easier access to the Foundation’s wealth of offerings.
