Night Kitchen Interactive has been selected by the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA) to create a playful, interactive educational activity centering on exposing young visitors and adults to some of the best-loved works in the Museum’s collection. In addition to helping families closely explore art together, the program will showcase visitors’ creative responses to the artwork on the SFMOMA website. Inspired by the painting, "Country Dog Gentleman," by Roy de Forest, the exhibition and related activities will highlight works by Jackson Pollock, Freda Kahlo, and Roy deForest.
Night Kitchen is thrilled to be showcasing its innovative work for science museums and centers at this year’s ASTC Annual Conference, taking place this weekend, October 18-21 at the Philadelphia Convention Center. We’ll be at booth #636 in Exhibit Hall D.
Hosted by The Franklin Institute, The Association of Science-Technology Centers’ 2008 Annual Conference theme is “Science Centers at the Crossroads of Science and Culture.” The conference will engage more than 1,900 science center professionals to explore their responsibilities to scientific and public constituencies. Topics will include inspiring interest in science education and the impact of web 2.0 on science centers.
The Night Kitchen Interactive-designed website for Reach Out and Read Greater Philadelphia launched today. The site allows visitors to donate online, buy tickets to the annual fundraiser, and discover key tips on how to help young children build a lifetime love of reading. “In addition to offering easy tips for building literacy-rich childhoods, our website will help us target key supporters so that Reach Out and Read Greater Philadelphia can continue to build on its successes,” said Kristen Kucharczuk, the Associate Medical Director of Reach Out and Read Greater Philadelphia in ROR GP’s announcement (PDF) of the launch. The website was the result of a grant from The 25th Century Foundation.
The Delaware Valley Innovation Network has selected Night Kitchen Interactive to create a website and online community that will serve as a key resource for the life science industry in the tri-state area. In addition to being an online resource, the website will allow users to blog, create profiles, join discussions and share resources to help build more collaboration across the industry’s multiple sectors and varied stakeholders.
The Jewish Publication Society has selected Night Kitchen Interactive to create an interactive online timeline to showcase its 120-year history. The timeline will help JPS portray its significant role in enhancing Jewish culture and learning and its vision, while relaying its vision for the future.
Featuring a complete redesign and reorganization by Night Kitchen Interactive, The National Constitution Center has launched its new website. After a thorough overhaul of the site’s home page, Night Kitchen Interactive organized the entire website to convey the NCC as a historic destination with a thoroughly modern, interactive visitor experience. The new, streamlined design targets four key audiences with “must see” message points and ensures visitors can find the information they need, quickly and easily.
The website redesign is just one of Night Kitchen Interactive’s projects with the National Constitution Center. Additional projects include the Sieze The Vote! online game, the award-wining interactive exhibit Abraham Lincoln’s Crossroads, the Centuries of Citizenship online exhibit, and the wiki-based Constitution Day website.
The Parrish Art Museum has launched East End Stories, a Night Kitchen Interactive-designed online exhibit that captures the art and stories of the historic Long Island East End artists’ community. To enhance the online tours of over 1600 images, Night Kitchen incorporated an innovative mapping feature to help visitors discover connections between the locations, artists, and their artwork. The result is a dynamic, informative, and captivating presentation of the people, the art, and events of this storied community.
The Night Kitchen Interactive-designed National Constitution Center website has been selected by EDSITEment as one of the best online resources for humanities education. EDSITEment, a partnership among the National Endowment for the Humanities, Verizon Foundation, and the National Trust for the Humanities, offers links to the highest-quality humanities-related educational content on the web, and typically gets more than 400,000 visitors each month. Night Kitchen Interactive’s work for the National Constitution center includes the Sieze the Vote! game, the award-winning Abraham Lincoln’s Crossroads, the Constitution Day wiki and the online version of the Centuries of Citizenship exhibit.
